Activities While Serving on the PARTF Board 

  • Attended every PARTF meeting across the state
  • Served as a member of the Executive Committee
  • Visited all 41 state parks – hiked sites and tent camped at many
  • Visited numerous application sites to get deeper understanding of the project to share with other members of the board
  • Humbled to speak at dedications at completed project sites
  • Met with representatives of the other Trust Funds to focus on goals for N C
  • Completed the 200 hour Environmental Certification through DENR and traveled across all regions of the state participating in workshops
  • Helped found Friends of Dismal Swamp State Park, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that raises money for educational programs at Dismal Swamp State Park and serve on the Board of Directors
  • Chairman of the Park Advisory Committee for Dismal Swamp State Park–As noted in my Ethics Forms, I recused myself from voting on any PARTF funding involving Dismal Swamp State Park
  • Organizer and President for the  Albemarle Conservation and Wildlife Chapter of the NCWF to promote conservation and outdoor activities in our area
